NEB Media Releases 2017 Class Player Rankings for the State of Tennessee
The 2017 class isn't quite as deep as the 2018 class, but there's no doubt that the 2017 holds some respect in terms of talent.
Anastasia Hayes comes in at number one in the 2017 rankings. The Lady Vol commit is coming into the 2017 season fresh off of leading Riverdale HS to the AAA state championship last year. Hayes is ranked top 10 nationally in multiple services and is in the running as a McDonald's All-American this year.
Dorie Harrison and Keke McKinney come in at two and three respectively. The duo of forwards are committed to Kentucky and have seen their share of success on the high school and travel ball circuit. The duo are versatile forwards who have nice game around the basket, but also have the ability to keep the defender true with a perimeter shot as well.
Erica Haynes-Overton follows up at number 3. Overton helped guide her East Nashville squad to the AA state championship last year. Overton is an explosive and crafty guard with a lot of upside left to her game. ETSU got a very nice player in Overton.
Tesia Thompson rounds out the top 5. Thompson is the top uncommitted 2017 in the state and is putting together another impressive high school season. After being named as the Battle in the Boro MVP this past summer with her Team Penny travel club, Thompson recently dropped in 49 points and 11 rebounds in a comeback win at the MLK tournament in Memphis for her Memphis Hamilton team.
Also, be on the lookout for a player watch list of prospects that are worthy of mention that will be released soon!
