Raatz Fence/O'Shea's Classic

The Raatz Fence/O'Shea's Classic was held in Louisville, Kentucky this past weekend featuring teams from five different states and some of the top talent in the country. The classic, put on by Keith Baisch and Mercy Academy, was a two day event that did not disappoint. The event saw some competitive match-ups with some impressive games by various players.

Incarnate Word (MO) was involved in two of the more exciting games of the classic. On Friday night, Incarnate Word and Mercer County (KY) had a back-and-forth battle that saw Sonya Morris hit the game-winning shot as time ran out. Incarnate Word also found themselves in another exciting game on Saturday as they nearly completed a 20-point comeback against Louisville Male. Unfortunately for the Red Knights, the comeback could not be completed as they lost the game by three against one of the top teams out of Kentucky.

The "upset" of the tournament came when Butler (KY) defeated nationally ranked Montini Catholic (IL) 43-31 in Saturday's big game. The low-scoring affair was led from start-to-finish by Butler despite a poor shooting game by Montini Catholic. Indiana signee, Jalen Penn, had several clutch buckets throughout the fourth quarter that proved to be too much. Junior post, Molly Lockhart, certainly raised her stock out of this game by handling her own in the paint against Montini's bigs.

The following will be some of stand-out players from each team:
